The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA), established in 2012 by the Government of Punjab under the Walled City of Lahore Act, is an autonomous body responsible for the conservation, planning, development, and management of the historic Walled City of Lahore. Rooted in the cultural heart of Lahore, it works to preserve one of South Asia’s most vibrant heritage zones, known for its historic monuments, traditional bazaars, and centuries-old urban fabric.
Over the years, WCLA has played a key role in restoring and protecting heritage sites, improving urban conditions, and promoting tourism within the old city. Through major initiatives like the Sustainable Development of Walled City Lahore Project, it focuses on reviving historic structures while enhancing the quality of life for residents.
