Saudi-backed Karachi waterfront project to transform 140 acres

Karachi: A 140-acre waterfront area owned by Karachi Port Trust is set to be transformed into a major commercial and maritime hub under a proposed investment initiative backed by Saudi and local partners. The project aims to redevelop the MT Khan Road waterfront into a modern business district featuring commercial, logistics, and investment-oriented facilities. Officials believe the development will attract substantial domestic and foreign investment, create employment opportunities, and strengthen Karachi’s position as a regional trade and logistics gateway. The initiative involves Karachi Port Trust, Saudi Business Council–NAJD Gateway Holding Company, Arif Habib Dolmen REIT Management Limited, and the Pakistan Corporate Consortium. Could this become one of Pakistan’s most significant waterfront developments in recent decades?
