Karachi: Flour prices have reached their highest level in Pakistan’s largest city, with a 20kg flour bag recorded at Rs. 2,800, according to the latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. Other major cities also reported elevated prices, including Peshawar at Rs. 2,750, Islamabad at Rs. 2,733, and Rawalpindi at Rs. 2,707, while Lahore recorded the lowest rate among major urban centers at Rs. 2,250. Rising food prices continue to place pressure on household budgets and contribute to broader inflation concerns across the country. Persistent increases in essential commodity costs can affect consumer spending, business activity, and overall economic confidence. Will stabilizing food prices become a key factor in improving economic conditions and public confidence?
