Punjab to end manual Patwar Khana work after June 30

Ali Raza Wajid : Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to ban all types of work in manual Patwar Khanas across the province after June 30 as part of a major land record digitization push. The decision was reviewed in a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman, attended by senior members of the Board of Revenue and deputy commissioners from all districts. District administrations have been tasked with collecting, scanning, and computerizing Patwar Khana records before the deadline. The government is also moving toward the implementation of Green Property Certificates across Punjab after June 30. This step can make property transactions more transparent, reduce manual record manipulation, improve investor confidence, and modernize land administration. Can digitized records reshape Punjab’s real estate market?
