Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is tightening its digital inspection and enforcement system, with Director General Tahir Farooq ordering action against private individuals who misuse the LDA name. The directions were issued during a meeting reviewing digital reforms in the Town Planning Wing.
Under the new enforcement approach, field inspections and sealing operations are being brought under stricter controls. LDA has directed that inspection teams follow approved SOPs, while officers must obtain permission from their supervisory authority before sealing properties. A digital mechanism for sealing and de-sealing is also being developed.
According to the latest LDA-linked update, teams going into the field for inspection and sealing will be required to carry QR-code-based identification cards, while data on illegal commercial properties is to be updated on a central monitoring dashboard.
LDA has separately warned citizens that manual notices have been banned and only digitally issued, QR-code-verifiable notices should be treated as genuine. Citizens encountering suspicious manual notices have been advised to report the matter to police.
The authority is also moving more citizen-facing services to the eBiz portal in an effort to reduce direct contact between applicants and officials and improve transparency in service delivery.
