LDA Demolishes Illegal Garages, Ramps and Washrooms Across Lahore’s Township

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has carried out an anti-encroachment operation in different blocks of Quaid-e-Azam Town (Township), demolishing unauthorised garages, ramps, raised platforms, washrooms and other structures reportedly occupying road space. The action was undertaken on the instructions of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq.

According to the LDA spokesperson, enforcement teams targeted Sector A2, Block 2, and Sector B2, Block 5, removing structures identified by the authority as illegal encroachments. The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner-I Asad-uz-Zaman and Director Housing-VI Waseem Zafar.

The crackdown was part of a wider enforcement drive reported on October 14, during which LDA separately sealed 25 commercial properties in Gulberg and Allama Iqbal Town for unauthorised commercial use and non-payment of commercial fees.

LDA officials said operations against illegal construction, encroachments and commercial violations would continue. The Township action is intended to restore public road space and improve accessibility, although the exact number of demolished structures and the total area cleared have not been disclosed.
