Dubai: A new pedestrian bridge connecting Etihad Rail’s Al Yalayis Station with Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station officially opened to passengers on October 15, 2026. The approximately 400-metre-long enclosed walkway allows travellers to move directly between the two stations in around five minutes without needing a taxi or separate road journey.
The bridge is equipped with air conditioning, moving walkways, escalators and staircases, making the transfer more convenient for passengers carrying luggage. It provides direct access to Dubai Metro’s Red Line, allowing Etihad Rail passengers to continue their journeys towards Dubai Marina, Business Bay, Downtown Dubai and other parts of the city.
Passengers also have the option of using a free shuttle bus service between the stations, with the short journey taking less than two minutes. The shuttle service remains available alongside the new pedestrian connection.
Etihad Rail’s Dubai Al Yalayis Station began passenger operations on September 30, 2026, providing rail connections to Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. The newly opened bridge improves integration between the national railway network and Dubai’s public transport system. Although the walkway is accessible to passengers, some final finishing work was still underway at the time of its opening.
