LDA seals 193 properties in fresh crackdown

Muhammad Muzamil Awan : Lahore: On the directions of DG LDA Tahir Farooq, the LDA Town Planning Wing carried out a fresh operation against illegal constructions, unauthorized commercial buildings, and commercial fee defaulters in LDA-controlled areas. Teams took action in Punjab University Society, Naz Town, PCSIR Society, Nishter Iqbal, Gulberg, New Garden Town, Gulshan Ravi, Gujjarpura, Samanabad, Allama Iqbal Town, and Sabzazar. Several illegal structures and shops were demolished, while 193 properties were sealed over illegal commercial use, non-payment of commercial fees, and recovery operations. Sealed properties include schools, academies, pharmacies, clinics, grocery stores, hardware stores, salons, workshops, restaurants, offices, and shops. This enforcement directly affects real estate compliance, commercial planning, and property market transparency. Will stricter action improve Lahore’s urban development discipline?
