Punjab signs MoU to boost meat exports with private sector

Lahore: The Punjab Livestock Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with private sector companies to enhance meat production and exports. Officials stated that partnerships with major firms aim to improve quality standards and expand Pakistan’s presence in international meat markets. Authorities highlighted that the initiative is expected to increase farmers’ income and generate foreign exchange for the country. Programs such as livestock cards, interest-free loans and cattle fattening are also being implemented to support the sector. Experts believe that strengthening the livestock value chain and export capacity will boost rural development and contribute to overall economic growth.
