Punjab disburses Rs191bn interest-free loans for low-income housing

Muhammad Muzamil Awan: Lahore: The Punjab government has disbursed over Rs191 billion in interest-free loans under its “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program to support low-income families in building homes. Officials reported that more than 135,410 families have received funding so far, while over 91,000 houses have already been completed, marking a significant milestone. Additionally, around 42,000 houses are currently under construction and are expected to be completed within the current fiscal year. Authorities also highlighted strong public interest, with over 1.17 million applications submitted. The program aims to expand home ownership, ensure affordability, and promote inclusive housing development across the province.
