Punjab launches Pakistan’s first e-taxi scheme under Transport Vision 2030

Ali Raza Wajid: Lahore: The Punjab government has introduced Pakistan’s first electric taxi scheme under the Chief Minister’s Transport Vision 2030, aiming to modernize urban mobility and promote eco-friendly transport solutions. The initiative is designed to create employment opportunities while encouraging women’s participation in the transport sector. Officials highlighted that the e-taxi program will reduce carbon emissions, lower fuel dependency, and provide a sustainable alternative for daily commuting. The scheme also empowers women by enabling them to earn respectfully through a structured and safe platform. Authorities believe this step will contribute to cleaner cities and an inclusive economic environment across Punjab.
