Punjab launches ‘Apna Khet Apna Rozgar’ scheme, allocates land to landless farmers

Lahore: The Punjab government has launched the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” scheme to empower landless farmers by providing agricultural land and financial support. Under the initiative, land worth approximately Rs160 billion will be allocated across various districts, benefiting thousands of families. Officials stated that over 13812 agricultural lots will support around 88,780 families, while a major portion in Cholistan will further extend benefits. Successful applicants will receive land valued between Rs2.5 to 4 million along with one-time cultivation grants. The scheme aims to enhance agricultural productivity, reduce rural unemployment, and promote economic stability by enabling farmers to generate sustainable income through farming.
