LDA introduces digital monitoring of enforcement operations in Lahore

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority has introduced digital monitoring of enforcement proceedings against illegal construction, unauthorised commercial use, land-use violations and non-payment of dues. Under the new standard operating procedures, notices, sealing and demolition proceedings will be processed through a digital file-management system. Notices will carry QR codes, while geo-tagged photographs and supporting records will be uploaded for online monitoring. Properties have been classified into three enforcement categories: illegal construction, unauthorised change of building use and unpaid dues. De-sealing records will also be maintained digitally, with properties reopened only after legal requirements, applicable fines or competent-authority approvals are completed.
