Gomal Zam Hydel Power Plant in South Waziristan Restored to Full Capacity

South Waziristan: The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has successfully restored the damaged generating unit at the Gomal Zam Hydel Power Station, bringing the plant back to its full 17.4 MW capacity after eight years. The repaired unit has completed testing and is now supplying power to the National Grid. The plant had been operating at half capacity since 2016 due to a technical fault. This restoration will help improve electricity supply in remote areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with an annual generation capacity of 90.9 million units.
