FIA arrests four NADRA officials in CNIC scandal

Charsadda: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested four NADRA officials following a raid on a registration center over allegations of illegally issuing Pakistani Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) to Afghan nationals. The suspects, identified as Waqar Ahmad, Attaullah, Ahmad Raza, and Sajjad, were taken into custody during the operation. According to FIA officials, documents, objectionable material, and weapons were recovered, while one of the accused was already under investigation in other cases. Authorities have registered a formal case and launched further raids to identify additional facilitators. The case highlights growing concerns over identity security, immigration controls, and the integrity of Pakistan’s national database system. Could this investigation expose a wider network involved in illegal identity documentation?
