The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), originally established in 1989 under the Ministry of Housing and Works and later formalized through legislative reforms in 2019 and 2020, is responsible for developing housing schemes for federal government employees across Pakistan. Evolving from the former FG Employees Housing Foundation, the authority operates as a regulated and structured entity to facilitate planned residential development.
FGEHA functions as a self financed organization, utilizing member contributions and installment based funding for land acquisition and project development. Through this model, it ensures the provision of affordable housing schemes while maintaining financial sustainability and supporting the housing needs of government employees.
