PHASE-VIII (Lifestyle Residency Project)

Federal Government Employees Housing Authority

PHASE-VIII (Lifestyle Residency Project) is a high-rise apartment scheme initiated by the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority under the Ministry of Housing and Works for federal government employees and other specified groups. The project is located on FGEHA-owned land in Sector G-13/1 and G-13/4, Islamabad, with a total land area of 15.37 acres. It was launched through a public-private partnership with EHFPRO, a special purpose vehicle formed through FGEHA and M/s Progressive Motels & Resorts.

The project was planned to include 3,273 apartments, with 2,384 apartments allocated to federal government employees and 889 apartments for the general public. It includes high-rise residential towers, basement parking, parks, backup generators for elevators, community club, mini supermarket, security system, auditorium, day care centre, gymnasium, beauty salon, banquet facilities, grocery stores, maintenance and garbage disposal services. FGEHA’s project page states that grey structures of seven towers on the 10-acre plot were completed, one tower was under construction, and construction work on the 5-acre plot was underway

FGEHA developed PHASE-VIII (Lifestyle Residency Project) as a pilot high-rise housing initiative to promote apartment living, modern facilities and better land utilization in Islamabad. However, recent reporting shows that the project faced major delays, had remained stalled since 2021, and FGEHA regained possession from private partners in March 2025 while litigation was still ongoing.
