Unsafe Power Wires Threaten Shah Jamal Colony

Residents of Lahore’s Shah Jamal Colony Road have raised serious concerns over dangerously hanging and unorganised electricity wires that pose a constant threat to public safety. Multiple joints without proper insulation, low-hanging cables close to the ground, and electricity meters installed at unsafe heights have turned the road into a high-risk zone, particularly for children and pedestrians. Locals say children regularly cross the road, increasing the chances of electric shocks or other accidents. Despite repeated complaints, no effective action has been taken so far. Residents are urging the district administration and relevant authorities to immediately organise the wiring system, properly insulate exposed joints, and reinstall meters at standard heights. They warn that without urgent corrective measures, the risk of a serious accident remains high.
