Sewerage failure floods streets in Lahore’s Muhammad Nagar

Lahore: Residents of Muhammad Nagar are facing severe difficulties due to a dysfunctional sewerage system, with foul-smelling wastewater accumulating in streets and outside homes. Locals report that the issue has persisted for nearly three years, with damaged pipelines causing frequent overflow, especially during rainfall when streets resemble stagnant pools. The situation has led to increased mosquito breeding and potential health risks, affecting daily movement for residents, including children and elderly citizens. Despite repeated complaints to authorities, no effective action has been taken so far. Residents have urged officials to immediately repair the sewerage infrastructure and implement a permanent drainage solution to restore hygiene and livable conditions in the area.
