Punjab Virtual Women Police Station shortlisted among world’s top 20 digital governance projects

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Virtual Women Police Station (VWPS) and Virtual Centre for Child Safety (VCCS), run under Punjab’s PSCA, have been recognized among the top 20 global e-governance projects at the WSIS Prizes 2026, under the United Nations framework. These initiatives highlight Pakistan’s progress in digital governance and citizen safety, offering efficient online services for women and children. The VWPS has managed over 935,000 women safety cases, while the VCCS has handled more than 134,000 child protection cases. This recognition positions Pakistan as the only country with two entries in the global top 20, emphasizing the innovation and effectiveness of the country’s digital governance initiatives.
