Lahore: Punjab Police have intensified enforcement under the Anti-Kite Flying Act across the province, including Lahore, this year. According to police spokespersons, 9,565 individuals have been arrested and 9,219 cases registered for violations. Authorities have seized 466,986 kites and 14,574 metallic spools. In Lahore alone, 4,395 arrests were made with 4,233 cases registered, along with the confiscation of 118,931 kites and 4,616 spools. Inspector General Abdul Kareem emphasized zero tolerance for kite flying in any area, strict legal action against violators, and bringing online sellers of metallic spools to justice. Parents are urged to keep children away from this dangerous activity, and citizens are instructed to report violations via helpline 15. The crackdown aims to enhance public safety and reduce injuries caused by kite flying.
