Punjab opens tenders for Rs60 billion development projects under PDP

Lahore: The Punjab government has officially started opening tenders for development projects under the Chief Minister Punjab Development Program (PDP). In a public and transparent process held at Town Hall, bids for 94 project packages worth Rs60 billion were opened in the presence of contractors and media. Provincial Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafiq reviewed the process and met bidders individually, while officials emphasized that equal opportunities were provided to all participants. Authorities stated that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to transparent governance and modern e-bidding systems. The PDP aims to improve sanitation, infrastructure and urban facilities across 52 cities, including plans for long-term urban planning and construction of underground water storage systems to manage rainwater effectively.
