Punjab distributes 30,000 tractors, allocates Rs30 billion loans for farmers

Lahore: The Punjab government has significantly boosted the agriculture sector by distributing 30,000 green tractors among farmers within two years under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s initiative. Officials stated that over 20,000 tractors have already been delivered, while the distribution of an additional 10,000 is underway. Under the CM High-Tech Mechanisation Financing Program, Rs30 billion has been allocated to provide loans to farmers and service providers for modern agricultural machinery. Additionally, 5,000 super seeders worth Rs4 billion have been distributed to improve wheat sowing and reduce smog. Authorities believe that mechanisation will lower farming costs, increase crop yields and modernise traditional agricultural practices across Punjab.
