Lahore: A review meeting was held at the Suthra Punjab Authority office under the chairmanship of Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique to assess the beat system, micro plans, and digital mapping status across districts. Officials briefed that 92% implementation of the beat system has been completed in union councils, while digital mapping of 20 municipal committees has also been done. The minister directed that 100% digital mapping must be completed within two days, saying the system will improve monitoring in remote areas. Field Monitoring Officers have been instructed to visit their assigned union councils daily, while action will be taken against poor performers. Stronger sanitation mapping can improve service delivery, public cleanliness, civic trust, and urban livability. Can digital monitoring make Punjab’s cleanliness system more accountable?
