Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced 1,000 fully funded training opportunities in China for fresh agriculture graduates from across Pakistan, calling it an important investment in the country’s agricultural future. The initiative aims to expose young professionals to modern farming practices, advanced machinery, smart irrigation, crop management, and technology-based productivity systems. By training fresh graduates abroad, the government hopes to build skilled human capital that can support farmers, improve yields, and modernize Pakistan’s agriculture sector. Stronger agriculture can increase rural income, improve land productivity, support agri-businesses, and create long-term investment confidence in farming regions. Can this training programme help transform Pakistan’s traditional agriculture into a modern economy?
