Pakistan, China boost agri cooperation with modern technology push

Islamabad: Pakistan and China have agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the agriculture sector, focusing on modern technology, smart farming and value addition to increase production and exports. Officials stated that joint initiatives are being advanced to modernize agriculture under bilateral collaboration.

Authorities highlighted discussions on mechanization, improved seeds, drip irrigation and digital agriculture. The use of Chinese technology is expected to enhance water efficiency, reduce costs and increase per-acre yield.

Experts believe that value addition through food processing, cold chain systems and modern packaging will improve shelf life and open new export markets. The cooperation also includes farmer training, research collaboration and the use of satellite data and digital tools for smarter decision-making. Analysts say this partnership could significantly boost agricultural exports and strengthen rural economy.
