Pakistan Announces $4.5 Billion Deep-Conversion Refinery in Hub

Pakistan is set to develop its first deep-conversion petroleum refinery in Hub, Balochistan, with an estimated $4.5 billion investment. The project under the Greenfield Refinery Policy is aimed at reducing reliance on imported petroleum products, strengthening energy security, and boosting industrial growth. The facility is expected to create around 2,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and operations. Advanced refining technologies will support high-value petroleum products production, downstream petrochemical industries, manufacturing, and exports. The initiative marks a key step in Pakistan’s energy infrastructure expansion and long-term economic strategy.
