More than 71,000 students have applied for admission to 65 Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence in Punjab, reflecting significant public interest in the education initiative. According to a recent briefing, the schools are designed to provide quality education with a limited class size of 30 students and qualified teaching staff. Children from deserving families are to receive free education, while a separate fee arrangement applies to other students.
The Punjab government aims to make 114 Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence functional across the province by August 14, 2026. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has also set a target of completing 300 schools by September. The project is part of the provincial government’s wider education reform agenda and seeks to expand access to higher-quality schooling across Punjab.
