Punjab releases first-quarter budget with Rs1.5bn for housing department

Lahore: Punjab Finance Department has released the first three-month budget for the new financial year to different provincial departments, covering salaries, operational expenses, utility bills, fuel, office requirements, and routine administrative costs. According to the details, Rs. 595 million has been released for Youth Affairs, Rs. 444 million for the Environment Department, Rs. 1.5 billion for the Housing Department, Rs. 1.4 billion for Social Welfare, and Rs. 380 million for monsoon-related arrangements. Officials say the budget has been made available online for departmental use and financial processing. Timely releases can keep government services active, support housing-related work, strengthen climate preparedness, and improve public-sector delivery.
