NAB Announces Comprehensive Real Estate Reforms to Boost Transparency, Investment

LAHORE – The Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lt. Gen. (R) Nazeer Ahmed, announced a comprehensive reform package for Pakistan’s real estate sector to enhance transparency, protect investors, and streamline business processes. Speaking at a Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry meeting, he emphasized curbing fraud, file culture, and non-transparent transactions. Future real estate projects will ensure plot and ownership transfers are managed via regulatory oversight. Cash transactions will be discouraged, and all payments must be processed through banking channels. He stressed that sold plots cannot exceed the available inventory and each plot will have a unique identification. Officials called for strengthened governance to build a fair and transparent real estate market.
