Lahore theatres halt shows amid energy-saving restrictions

Lahore: Theatre owners and producers in Lahore have decided to halt performances between 8 pm and 10 pm following government directives under the energy conservation campaign. Officials limited business hours to reduce electricity consumption, which theatre owners say makes it difficult for audiences to attend shows. As a result, several theatres including Prince Theatre, Naz Theatre, and Ravi Theatre have temporarily closed operations. Industry representatives stated that typical performances run late at night, and the new restrictions are affecting their business viability. Some producers are currently in discussions with local authorities to seek adjustments. The situation highlights the broader impact of energy-saving measures on entertainment activities and urban night-time economy.
