Islamabad to reduce entry points from 109 to 25 to strengthen security

Islamabad: Authorities have decided to gradually reduce the number of entry points into the federal capital from 109 to 25 as part of a new security management strategy. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, where officials reviewed measures aimed at strengthening law and order and improving civic management in Islamabad. The minister directed authorities to ensure strict monitoring at checkpoints and entry routes so that security arrangements remain effective. He emphasized that checkpoints must serve a clear security purpose and contribute to maintaining public safety. Officials were also instructed to ensure continuous peace and stability in the capital, while a comprehensive strategy is being prepared to make the Red Zone fully operational and effectively managed.
