National Grid Company completes key transmission and grid upgrade projects

Pakistan: The National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) has successfully completed two major projects aimed at strengthening the country’s power transmission network. In Lahore, the upgradation of the 220kV Sheikhupura–Band Road transmission line (Circuit I & II) has been completed over a 28-kilometre stretch, including the installation of new towers and conductors to improve system capacity and reliability. Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, a 220/132kV, 250 MVA auto transformer has been energized at the Tando Muhammad Khan Road grid station under the World Bank-funded National Transmission Modernization Project (NTMP-I). Officials say these developments will enhance transmission efficiency, stabilize voltage supply and ensure more reliable electricity for consumers.
