Islamabad/Rawalpindi: Heavy rainfall affected several parts of the twin cities, causing water accumulation on major roads and underpasses and slowing traffic movement. Intense showers overwhelmed drainage in some low-lying areas, creating difficulties for commuters and motorists. While the rain brought relief from hot weather, it also renewed concerns over urban drainage and road conditions. Authorities and emergency teams remained on alert, while residents were advised to avoid waterlogged routes, limit unnecessary travel and follow official weather and traffic updates during the wet spell.
