Peshawar: Construction activity on the Hazar Khwani Overpass is continuing at an accelerated pace under the Peshawar Revitalisation Plan. The latest update from the Director General, Peshawar Development Authority, says work is progressing across different sections of the project, with efforts being intensified for timely completion.
The project is a six-lane overpass at Hazar Khwani Interchange on Peshawar Ring Road, with an officially reported estimated cost of Rs1.257 billion. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi laid its foundation stone in June 2026.
The overpass forms part of the wider Peshawar Revitalisation Plan aimed at reducing traffic bottlenecks and improving movement along major city corridors. An APP-sourced August inspection also confirmed that the Hazar Khwani Overpass remained under construction and that officials had been directed to accelerate work while maintaining quality standards.
