Islamabad: Pakistan’s Federal Excise Duty (FED) collection reached Rs840.02 billion in FY2025-26, up 9.6% from Rs766.64 billion a year earlier. The increase amounts to around Rs73.38 billion, according to recently published figures attributed to Federal Board of Revenue data.
Cigarettes remained the biggest source, generating Rs251.26 billion, an increase of 11.4%. Cement followed with Rs160.35 billion, while FED from inland air-travel services stood at Rs57.68 billion and another air-travel category generated Rs44.12 billion.
Other major collections included Rs25.58 billion from motor cars, Rs22.19 billion from fertilisers and urea, Rs12.57 billion from sugar, while washing-machine FED jumped 48.7% to Rs7.26 billion. The 15 largest FED categories together generated Rs687.42 billion, with another Rs152.60 billion coming from other items.
For comparison, official government data confirms that full-year FED collection for FY2024-25 was Rs766.64 billion, while the 2025-26 budget had set a provisional FED target of around Rs899 billion.
