Gujranwala mass transit system approved, project moves ahead

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has apprved the design of the Gujranwala Mass Transit System, marking a major step toward modernizing urban transport. The 31.5 km project will run from Ghakhar to Aimanabad with 24 stations, including underground sections and a feeder bus network connecting key areas. Infrastructure plans include depots, a modern command center, and solar-powered facilities. Designed to serve up to 2.6 million passengers, this initiative under the Urban Planning & City Development Cluster reflects a strong Government Policy to improve mobility and city infrastructure.
