Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb Reviews Rs220.68bn PM Housing Loan Progress

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb chaired the second meeting of the Access to Finance Steering Committee to review progress under the Prime Minister’s Access to Finance Plan 2026–2028. The Finance Division said banks have approved more than Rs220.68 billion in loans under the Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program – Ghar Ho To Apna, while around Rs34.27 billion had been disbursed up to July. The committee also reviewed measures to improve housing finance through digitised land and property records, title-document verification and stronger mortgage-based lending mechanisms. Officials discussed greater engagement with developers and clearer property-verification procedures to improve access to properly documented housing finance.
