Government to Close 70 Accounts, Unlock Rs300 Billion Funds

Islamabad: The government has decided to shut down around 70 bank accounts operated by various ministries to unlock approximately Rs 300 billion in idle funds. These accounts were holding unused financial resources that will now be redirected toward national development and improved fiscal management. Officials stated that the move is part of broader financial reforms aimed at enhancing transparency and minimizing inefficiencies in public finance. By consolidating these funds, the government seeks to strengthen oversight of expenditures and ensure that resources are allocated more effectively to priority sectors.
