Sheikhupura: On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Director General PDMA Punjab Umar Abbas Mela visited Ferozewala and Muridke to assess flood-affected villages, submerged areas and locations where breaches had developed in protective embankments. He was briefed on efforts to repair the embankments, close the breaches, control water flow and accelerate drainage operations. The DG also inspected relief camps and reviewed the provision of food, clean drinking water, medicines and other essential facilities for displaced families. District administration, Rescue 1122, the Irrigation Department and other agencies were directed to strengthen coordination, maintain rescue machinery and boats in vulnerable areas, and ensure special evacuation arrangements for women, children, elderly citizens and other vulnerable groups.
