Lahore Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz Reviews Ravi Flood Preparedness

Lahore: Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Ali Ijaz inspected Tehsil Ravi on July 27, 2026, reviewing River Ravi water flow and monsoon safety arrangements at the Shahdara Town protective embankment and Old Ravi Bridge. He directed field staff and relevant departments to remain on continuous high alert and maintain monitoring of the embankments. According to the official briefing reported after the visit, the river flow was normal at the time and the protective embankments were considered secure, while the warning system and relief plan had been activated as precautionary measures. Officials were also told to keep drainage machinery ready for low-lying areas and maintain interdepartmental coordination. No evacuation order, flood emergency, new construction project, financial package or implementation deadline was announced in the available official update.
