DC Lahore Inspects Model Town: Shanghai Road Upgrades and Ashura Route Preparations

Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Captain Ali Ijaz, conducted a detailed field visit to Model Town, reviewing ongoing construction on Shanghai Road and preparations for the upcoming Ashura processions. Accompanied by Chief Officer MCL Shahid Abbas Khatri and AC Model Town Abdul Sami Sheikh, the DC received briefings on construction progress, traffic management, and safety protocols. Key directives included strict adherence to safety measures, use of high-quality asphalt, immediate removal of construction debris from roads, and repair of hanging electric wires along the Ashura procession route. Officials were instructed to complete road patchwork within two days and deploy all available resources to ensure a peaceful Ashura. Captain Ali Ijaz emphasized interfaith harmony and public safety as shared responsibilities.
