Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority has reportedly cancelled the temporary site permission linked to Plot No. 1 at The Centaurus and directed the concerned party to vacate approximately eight kanals of CDA-owned land within seven days. The action is based on a letter issued by CDA’s Directorate of Urban Planning-I on September 11, 2026.
According to the reported CDA letter, the temporary site measured 160 by 272 feet and had been permitted for a two-year period from March 6, 2024 to March 5, 2026. CDA officials inspected the site on March 10 and reported containers being used for workers’ accommodation, toilets, a temporary mosque and ablution area, badminton courts and construction material. CDA said these uses were inconsistent with the conditions of the temporary permission.
The authority reportedly withdrew the permission with immediate effect and ordered the concerned party to clear outstanding dues and vacate the land. CDA also warned that failure to clear the site could lead the authority to take possession and remove the temporary structures at the concerned party’s expense without further notice.
Important: this notice concerns the temporary eight-kanal site at Plot No. 1. It should not be reported as closure, cancellation or demolition of the entire Centaurus Mall.
