Karachi’s Yellow Line BRT Project Set to Serve 300,000 Daily Commuters

Karachi’s Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is set to receive 256 electric buses, significantly improving urban mobility across the city. The 21-kilometre corridor will connect Dawood Chowrangi to Numaish, with a Tower link integrated into Karachi’s broader Breeze Network. The route includes 28 stations, six of which are underground, and is designed to handle nearly 300,000 passengers daily and 78 million trips annually. Operating at speeds of 21–26 km/h, the BRT fleet will save commuters an estimated 3.6 million hours per year. The electric buses, of varying sizes, are eco-friendly, providing a modern and sustainable transport solution to Karachi’s traffic challenges.
