CDA Allots 8.33 Acres for Islamabad Museum at Shakarparian

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allotted 8.33 acres of land at Shakarparian to the Department of Archaeology and Museums for the establishment of the Islamabad Museum, with the process of taking possession currently underway. The development was shared during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Heritage and Culture, chaired by MNA Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar. The committee recommended that funds for the construction of the National Museum of Pakistan be allocated in the Federal Budget 2026–27 to ensure timely execution of the project. The committee also unanimously approved amendments to the Lok Virsa (Amendment) Bill, 2025, and recommended its passage by the National Assembly, emphasizing the importance of preserving national heritage and culture.
