Abbottabad: A major new recreational attraction has opened at Shimla Hill, where Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi inaugurated a 702-kanal public park on August 29. The project was developed at a reported cost of around Rs1.47 billion under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project.
The park includes 30 eco-friendly pavilions, six walking tracks, a 365-metre zipline, a cricket ground, children’s play area, restaurant, cafeteria and three parking areas with capacity for around 250 vehicles. Officials also highlighted extensive tree plantation and preservation of the existing green environment.
Separately, the chief minister announced that Rs200 billion has been allocated under the wider Khushal Hazara Programme — Rs150 billion for development and Rs50 billion for tourism projects across Hazara Division.
