Lahore: Building-plan approvals in Allama Iqbal Zone are facing a reported administrative deadlock after an incorrect jurisdiction boundary in Punjab’s eBiz digital system began routing applications to the Lahore Development Authority instead of the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore. Baldiyat Times reports that the problem has continued for around six months and that building plans submitted from MCL-controlled parts of Iqbal Zone have not been approved since March.
According to the report, LDA is also not approving these applications because the affected properties fall outside its applicable building-control jurisdiction, leaving applicants caught between the two authorities. The report claims MCL has consequently lost crores of rupees in building-plan fees and construction activity in affected areas has been disrupted.
Punjab’s official eBiz system does automatically route applications to the relevant approving authority, making correct jurisdiction mapping critical.
