Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved multiple development projects across Lahore and other divisions of the province, with a particular focus on road infrastructure, beautification and public facilities. In Lahore, beautification plans for 10 major roads have been approved, including Egerton Road, Lytton Road, Davis Road, Lower Mall, Lawrence Road, Queens Road and Bank Road. The chief minister also directed authorities to beautify Lakshmi Chowk, introduce artwork along metro tracks and parks, and clean, landscape and decorate the Orange Line train track along Multan Road with plantation and mural paintings. The approved projects include road construction and expansion, parking facilities, footpaths, kerb stones, cat eyes, lane markings and roadside drainage. Maryam Nawaz directed that manholes and sewer covers be kept level with the road surface and ordered a ban on unauthorised digging or damaging newly constructed roads. She also instructed authorities to ensure proper roadside drainage, sewage management, lane marking and dust-free construction at all road projects. Separate development projects were also approved in Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and other districts, covering roads, drainage, parks, streetlights, beautification and sports facilities.
