Karachi Opens Rs746.6m Korangi-Landhi Flyover to Ease a Busy Industrial Route

Karachi: A new 515-metre Korangi-Landhi Flyover has been completed and opened at 12,000 Road, Korangi No. 5, providing another elevated connection through one of Karachi’s major residential and industrial corridors. The project was completed at an officially reported cost of Rs746.628 million — about Rs74.66 crore.

Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab inaugurated the flyover on August 29. Officials expect it to improve traffic movement between Korangi, Landhi and adjoining industrial areas, while the mayor said the route would also improve connectivity towards Ibrahim Hyderi and Shah Faisal Colony.

The opening follows weeks of final-stage construction work, after officials inspected the project earlier in August and said it would soon be opened to commuters.
