Zeeshan Malik, Tahir Farooq and Ali Ejaz Review 15km Ferozepur Road Upgrade

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority has reviewed a proposed 15-kilometre upgrade of Ferozepur Road from Canal Bank Road to Gajjumata under an urban-regeneration plan. Punjab Chief Minister’s Adviser Zeeshan Malik, accompanied by DG LDA Tahir Farooq and DC Lahore Ali Ejaz, visited Ferozepur Road, Nishtar Colony, Atta Bakhsh Road and Kamahan-Lidher Road to review ongoing and proposed development works.

The proposed Ferozepur Road scheme includes upgrading both sides of the corridor, removing encroachments, constructing footpaths, creating parking spaces, improving building façades and introducing more uniform streetscape development. Drop lanes are also planned outside hospitals, while seating areas are proposed beneath flyovers.

The plan also includes beautification of the Abdul Sattar Edhi Underpass under a sustainable-development model. Importantly, this is still a proposed upgrade plan; the latest update confirms review and planning, not completion of the 15-km corridor works.

During the same visit, officials said 6 kilometres of Atta Bakhsh Road have already been completed, while the remaining 2.5 kilometres are planned for upgrade. On Kamahan-Lidher Road, 45% of work has reportedly been completed, including a storm-water drain and a two-lane dual carriageway, while LESCO is shifting electricity poles.
